Rice Hydro - LINECAGE Hose Safety Anchor Device

The Rice Hydro LINECAGE Hose Safety Anchor Device is a patented hose securement and anchoring system designed to improve firefighter safety during hydrostatic fire hose testing. Engineered specifically to help departments meet NFPA 1962 Section 7.6.2.6 requirements for securing and anchoring hose during testing, the LINECAGE helps safely limit hose movement in the event of a rupture or failure. 

Originally designed by a Fire Captain following a near-miss hose testing incident, the LINECAGE was developed with firefighter safety as the top priority. Constructed from a virtually indestructible heavy-gauge welded steel frame with a durable powder-coated finish, the device securely anchors hose lines during pressure testing while helping reduce the risk of uncontrolled “wild line” movement. 

The LINECAGE features multiple locking hole positions to accommodate various hose diameters and utilizes locking hitchpins to fully enclose and secure the hose during testing. Integrated quick links allow for fast and easy anchoring of the device to a fixed point. When properly positioned approximately two feet from the distal end of the hose line, the LINECAGE helps stop a burst or ruptured hose from retracting beyond the tool location.
